My Olympus e30 Review
When it comes to upper mid level and lower high end SLR camera’s the competition is strong. It is hard to go wrong when making a choice between the offerings of the leading manufacturers. There is something available for everyone’s taste in photography.
This Olympus e30 review explains why my vote is for the camera that has made it’s mark among serious amateur photographers.
Construction:
When handling the e30 for the first time I noticed that it was rather large. It actually is the same footprint as the professional E-3 model.
The body of the camera comes in (what else) black of course. Unlike the magnesium body of the E-3, the body of the e30 is made of plastic and strengthened fiberglass.
While this might seem like a downgrade, Olympus was able to maintain the dust and splashproffing that was exclusive to the E-3 while controlling the cost of the camera.
The e30 has an LCD viewfinder and function screen that swivels. This action enables you to take pictures from any angle, around corners, over crowds, or nearly any position imaginable.
Because the camera has so many advanced features, there is a learning curve when navigating your way around the screen. This is true for most cameras, but particularly challenging with the Olympus e30. At least it was for me.
The Olympus e30 was designed for creative people in mind. Graphic Designers, art students, photo hobbyist, web designers, illustrators, and fashion designers will love the built in art filter function. This function allows the photographer the creativity to view images in imaginative ways that until now have not been possible.
One of my favorite features in this camera is the high-speed contrast autofocus. This feature guarantees that what you see on the screen is what you will get.
The camera has a built in image stabilization feature that prevents your pictures from being blurry, even if they are taken under extreme conditions.
The Olympus e30 gives the identical high-precision performance and image quality that professional photographers get from the E-3, yet it is as consumer friendly as the E-520.
These features are among the many that puts the Olympus e30 camera in a class all alone.

-Pixel Mapping
The pixel-mapping feature allows the camera to check and adjust the image pickup device and image processing functions.
As you can see, the Olympus e30 is an excellent camera with loads of features. If Olympus was trying to make a camera that was exciting and fun it hit a home run with this offering. I love it and think that you will too.
