Another camera question — Gray Card EI Test , How to perform?
Once again I am asking a quesion for a friend of mine in a Black and White Film Photo II class. This time we were trying to identify the best method for performing a Gray Card EI test,
She is using a Minolta Maxxum 5 (50mm lens)

It depends on why you are performing the test. The usual use is to find your correct exposure for the camera and film you are using. ISO readings are general and the best way to pinpoint the proper ISO for the film you are using and the development of said film is to do this test. Waaay back in the day when I was in college we used sheet film and exposed half a sheet of film to a gray card and then developed it. When the neg with the least difference between the unexposed part and the gray card was developed then we would use that ISO as our standard ISO for that film. I shot Plus-x (ISO 125) at 200 ISO and developed for about 1.1% longer.
Since your friend is using 35mm it makes this kind of test a bit harder to do.
