What Canon wide angle lens with an aperture of 2.8 would be best for a full frame sensor slr?
I own a Canon 5D Mark I and am in desperate need of a wide angle lens. I was unaware the certain lenses do not work with full frame sensors. I bought a Sigma 30mm 1.4 and noticed vignetting when I used it with my 5D, and do not want this to happen with the next lens I purchase.
Based upon decades of shooting 35 mm cameras, I would suggest in this order, a wide angle lens for your fine 5D.
1. The EF 20 mm f/2.8 USM around $700
2. The EF 24 mm f/2.8 around $500
If your budget is a little short, see if you can find a good used version of either of those two lenses.
You of course know not to try any EF-S lenses on your 5D. This can lead to damage to the cameras mirror
