How do I get a Canon FS10 onto a MacBook Pro?
I recently got a Canon FS10 camcorder because my last camcorder didn’t work on my mac. The iMovie site says that this camcorder is compatible with iMovie, but I have unsuccessfully tried to upload some material onto the computer. Does anyone know what’s wrong? Is it the computer, camcorder, or am I doing something wrong?

With the camcorder in Play mode and connected using a USB cable, it should mount as an external device like any other hard drive. Copy the video files to the Mac.
If all you want to do is view the video, you need to download and install Flip4Mac.

If you want to edit the video,
Download and install StreamClip
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
Launch StreamClip and convert the files to a format iMovie can deal with. When the file conversion is complete, quit StreamClip and launch the video editor you want to use (iMovie or FinalCut). Drag the converted video files to the clips or capture/log panes – or directly to the timeline.
