Compact Zoom
Compact digital camera with good zoom, help!?
I need a camera to take to Indonesia this summer to observe monkeys. It needs:
good zoom – the monkeys will be up to 30m away
preferably a sony – already have the memory cards
cheap- not more than £150 at the very most £200
compact – need to carry round with me and want it for normal day to day stuff when i get back

This sounds like a job for the panasonic TZ series 
The TZ5 goes right to the end of your budget, however it does pack a 10x zoom with 9.1 mega pixels which will allow you to crop your photos.

However at a mighty £10 cheaper you could get the TZ4, which had practically identical features (including the 10x zoom), however the resolution is 8.1 mega pixels, come that really isn’t going to make much of a difference.
