Department Stores Brace Themselves For Toy Story 3 Mania
So whilst Disney and Pixar have been busy hyping the film, toy manufacturers have been busy preparing their production lines ready for the big launch date. Top of the shopping list as always is the Woody and Buzz Lightyear character toys. It is almost 11 years since the Toy Story 2 release in 1999 and over 15 years since the original Toy Story film hit the screens in 1995, but demand is still there. This has been the longest period between releases and Toy Story 3 has been eagerly awaited by past fans of the film and newbies who were too young to remember Toy Story 2 or were not even around back then. With the favorite well known stars such as Tom Hanks and Tim Allen as Woody and Buzz Lightyear still providing the voice overs the film is sure to be a hit.
Toy Story, the original, was the highest grossing movie in 1995 and pundits are betting that the new Toy Story 3 is also going to break the box office records. All good news for the department stores that have taken down some of their general toy stock areas to cater for the demand for Woody and Buzz Lightyear toys. From listening to reviewers who have had the privilege to have seen an advance screening many are saying it is definitely a big hit. Although Pixar have restrained journalists from commenting on the film, especially the effect of 3D that is now a must in the movie world.
