Nikon D300 – Product Review
As a Professional photographer I have been utilizing the Nikon D300 for just a little over two years now.
My incredibly initial digital camera was the Nikon D100 with 6.2 mega pixel capture, and I was really impressed with it. Now with the D300 and it’s 12.2 Mega Pixel capture I am happier.

Fortunately the D300 will go down to 100 ISO, but still, at the beach here in Hawaii the sky might be so bright that at 100 ISO and 1/125th the exposure is F11 or even F16.
The trouble with which is just that the Nikon speedlights only give me F9 at finest, so the sky can still get a bit blown out.
Other than that, I have discovered the D300 is an exceptional camera. It has a heft and really feel of a solid, professional camera. The controls are comfortable and intuitive. I love the menu possibilities for image customization, and of course the Nikon optics are top drawer.
The auto focus is quick and accurate, and works well under low light conditions. I love that I can still use all my older Nikon lenses, specially my 70~200mm F2.8, which is 15 years old!
The color and image clarity is exceptional, and with the 12.2 Mega Pixel files, I can make enlargements as massive as I want with really small manipulation.
