What are some alternatives ways of insulating the wall of a wood light frame building?
What are some alternative ways of insulating the walls of a wood light frame building to R-value beyond the range normally possible with ordinary 2 X 4 (38 X 39 mm) studs?
Use spray on expanding foam that fills better and has a higher R value
Build the wall as a 6″ thick wall and off set the studs inside and out so there is no conduction through the wood with insulation also in the gap between the stud and the unattached wall as well as thick insulation between.
(and your figures are wrong 2×4 doesn’t give 38 x 39
