Gray Filter
Blue gunk on Pool filter?
I have one of those easy set pools from walmart, and it stays sparkling clean. The filters are going quickly tho, because of a blue-gray goo on the paper filters. None of the chemials have blue additives what could it be, and what can i do about it?
I think it’s just a combination of dirt and chemicals being filtered, maybe some algae. You can squeeze more life out of the filters by hosing them off with the sprayer while they are still wet. Don’t let it dry first or the stuff won’t come off. They won’t come totally clean, but clean enough to work like it should. And you can do this about 3-4 times before you have to replace them. Saves lots of money, especially when you change the filter every week!
