The Magnificent Strength Of Carbon Fiber Tubes To Withstand Weather
Our modern civilization claimed to have produced a new breed of material which is surprisingly high in strength in the form of carbon fiber tubes. This material streams from nowhere to become the most in demand among other materials due to many facets and properties it display, particularly its strength. How this material is composed will give us a comprehensive idea as to the other properties it display and how we can benefit from it.
For better understanding, these tubes are made of long and tiny myriads of fibers that are usually only about 0.005 to 0.010 micrometers in diameters. Aside from priding itself with unbelievable strength, other exemplary properties of this material are low thermal expansion and light weight.
Another factor to consider why these products can withstand weather is how they are manufactured. These tubes normally undergo carbonization for improved performance. With this process, the fibers are tested in high treatment temperature, for additional strength and durability.
Carbon fiber tubes are the best option to withstand the weather compared to other materials. With its low thermal expansion, the tubes are actually not disconcerted to moisture and temperature. No wonder car manufacturers made these materials to be part of car accessories especially in car hoods, fenders, and trunks. With its growing superior performances, other fields of expertise become aware of the good use of these products against heat and excessive rain. The air craft field for one has a growing need for these to use them as essential parts of air planes. A good example of this is Airbus A380.
In the future, we hope to see carbon fiber tubes to be a significant part of infrastructure and civil engineering. Since these materials are already tried and tested to withstand difficult weather conditions, bridges can be made out of these; pavements can also be established with these. This way, there will be more security and comfort as we travel.
But in the meantime, we can continue to enjoy the benefit of this material with its low thermal expansion. Aside from the fields mentioned below, this property is also being considered by other fields, one of the reasons behind trusting this material over any other metals. In fact, in the United States alone, a reliable survey showed that other markets have a growing demand for such like marine, electrical and electronics, corrosion-resistant, appliances and other business equipment, science and technology, sports, and even consumers.
The better uses of carbon fiber tubes are applied in almost all facets of life, now and in the future, we can be sure that life can offer us more our chances to live our lives to the fullest.
