So I was thinking I’d order that for my boyfriend for his birthday (he loves Rick Nash) and maybe put a key on it (like one of those little diary keys shaped like a heart) and say something about “holding the key to my heart” … I don’t know how I’d word it. But yeah. What do you think? I want honest answers, people! Ahah.
Since it’s someone he likes, it would be nice.
In actuality, if I found something we both liked, not only would I buy it, but I would put a Mitzpah (possible spelling error) on it. That’s the 2 halfed heart coin and when you put each half together it says:
The Lord watch between me and thee, while we are absent one from another.
To me, the coin halves show we are friends/lovers and the sentiment is that we are always thinking of each other, even when we’re apart.
I guess it’s not that I think you have a bad idea, it’s just that I’m looking at it as if you are giving the key to your heart, but are you actually receiving the key to his in return? Yeah, he should do the same sentiment as this seems to be a Valentines gift, but take it from a guy, we really don’t usually think along those lines, so encouraging us to think along those lines does help.
