Myopic diopters for correcting increased flange focal distance?
I’m creating an adapter to make a Nikon ‘G’ lens have an adjustable diaphragm, and it will increase the FFD by a few millimeters, throwing infinity focus totally off. I can leave it at that, but that basically makes it more like a short extension tube with a lever, rather than a super-thin aperture adapter.
Now, as there are +1, +2, etc. macro diopters, would it be possible to get -1, -2, etc. myopic screw-in diopters as well? Would this correct the increase in distance from the film plane caused by my adapter, even with a loss of image IQ? Thanks for any help and any direction.
You probably should visit an optician to get minus dioptre lenses, since they are not normally sold for photography. Hold on to front of lens with sticky tape. Can you not put the adjustable diaphragm in front of the lens? Rather than between the lens and the body.
