What are possible consequences from prolonged UV/black light exposure?
I have a black light in my room and I’ve heard the it exposes the weakest form of UV rays. I like to keep it on at night while I sleep because it makes a cool atmosphere. Could prolonged exposure to the light have any consequences to my health or skin?
Black lights don’t technically radiate electromagnetic waves in the ultraviolet range. The most energetic waves are at most in the UVA range, and while this can accelerate skin aging and potentially damage DNA, it really is not a major safety concern, owing to its longer wavelength.
