Why did Carano stand up after getting mount on Cyborg?
What kind of fighter would give up such a dominant position? Is Gina’s jiu-jitsu that weak compared to Cyborg’s, or do you think she was just overly obsessive about sticking to a particular game plan?
Carano’s trainers have her convinced that her stand up is her key to victory. Everyone knows that Cyborg is the more dominate fighter in grappling / ground game. Carano though, stupidly enough, that she could out strike Cyborg and gain a victory. Cyborg was by far the better fighter and was much better prepared for this event than Carano.
Carano also was questioning herself before the match began. You can see it in her eyes if you look closely. Losing confidence is not good in competitive sports.
