multi tasking reduces brain power, So what is better for studying; silence or classical music?
please only answer if you have a lot of knowledge in this area and/or experimental evidence. I’ve read that classical music has been proven to boost brain power but then I read articles telling me multitasking reduces brain power… Please also tell me how multitasking reduces your brain power. I understand that your reduced focus on each task would reduce your performance but apart from that are there any other consequences? Is there anything you can do to make up for those consequences?
Depends on the individual. Extroverts do better with a lot of background noise. Introverts are better with ether silence or fairly quiet music.
Studies have been done which suggest that the best music to have while studying is Vivaldi. Apparently it stimulates the right areas of the brain. (I used to use it myself and I did find it helpful.)
JS bach is another good composer to listen to while studying.
