OPTICIANS- Please help: What prescription strength is ok to wear a normal lens with a slight astigmatism rx?
My friend said it’s ok to wear a normal lens with slight astigmatism. I am nearsighted and my rx is:
Right: +50, -1.00, 115
Left: +25, -75, 65
Is a toric necessary?
Your friend knows nothing about optics to start with.
With your prescription , if you were to get contacts, they would HAVE to be torics because you have too much astigmatism compared to the spherical power ( the first numbers )
Regular non toric contacts wouldn’t help you see at all.
