How to reset my computer without original (OEM) ME disk?
Had already upgraded to Windows XP on a home PC about 5 years old. Crashed the other day and couldn’t start it at all. Decided after lots of deliberation to restore factory settings, but couldn’t complete process without without ME disk.
ME was already installed when I bought it (OEM, right?) Trying to use the XP disk I’ve got, but can’t do this in Safe Mode (the only way I can get into any operational Windows).
I’m at a loss. Any suggestions (apart from “Get a new computer”)?
go to cmos boot sequence should say ide,cdrom,floppy change to cdrom,ide,floppy save and exit
place xp into cdrom drive start computer boot from disc ok.
follow prompts when reinstalled .
back to cmos and change boot sequence to ide,cdrom,floppy.
install your drivers as and when required if you lose them goto www.driverzone.com and download new ones hope this help
