I need help adjusting my settings from my amp to my new speakers?
I have a crunch P.1100.2 amplifier and a panasonic cq-c8100u head unit and just got some nice ass new infinity 9623i 6×9′s and i need some help in adjusting the settings between the head unit, amp, and speakers so my system will sound as good as possible. please help.
Do i need to adjust my settings on the head unit at all.
and how high should my bass eq be turned up on my amp?
First set all tone controls on the head unit and amp to their flat(center) position. Turn your amp gain all the way down to the minimum position. Play a cd. Now turn up the volume on your head unit 3/4 of the way up. Now slowly increase the gain on your amplifier until you just begin to hear distortion then back off a hair. Try several cd’s when setting the gain because different cd’s are recorded at different levels so you’ll have to find a setting that is a good compromise. As far as the bass eq on the amp, it is usually centered at a frequency such as 45hz and is mostly used to compensate for the lack of low bass from smaller speakers. A 6X9 has roughly the same cone area as a typical 8″ round woofer so I don’t believe you really need to use it since they will have no problem getting down that low. I would just leave it set flat.
