How do i know if i got oem parts?
I got in an accident a few years ago in my 01 altima. And i wnet to a local body shop for repairs (bumper and hood had to be replaced). I dont have the reciept how do i know i got oem parts? Since aftermarket parts dont have crumple zones and such im worried that the cars safety is comprimized
I’ll tell you a dirty little secret about all body and fender shops. Insurance companies chisel the living dog meat out of them to replace damaged parts as inexpensively as possible. If you happen to have a high mileage vehicle parts sometimes come from local auto grave yards. The body shops buy fenders, hoods, body panels, grilles, headlights and bumpers from well stocked auto paint stores. That’s a money saving deal till you learn the parts come from China!
