Two features in regards to the Pentax K7 DSLR that I virtually never mention
Two of the most powerful elements of the New Pentax K7 DSLR is the amazing weather-proofing, and it’s capacity for HD Video Capture. I have not often mentioned a lot about either feature in earlier articles because I am probably not that great of a video photographer and I certainly don’t do expeditions to the Arctic or anything like that, but perhaps I neglected them as a result of I never use these functions. How thoughtless of me, I apologise! Sorry I’m so ordinary.
Anyway. Here is my take.
The Pentax K7 like the K20D, affords what can realistically be described as top notch weather-proofing, unlike the D90 which does not have any and the Canon 50D which has water proofing which is ineffective.

With the K7, even your budget kit lenses such as your 18-55 standard range and 50-200 tele lens can be properly weather-sealed with Pentax’s superior weather proofing system, this means that you may even use it under close to arctic situations, as it could function down at 14 degrees fahrenheit (-10C), compared to only 32F/0C with other supposedly “climate-sealed” cameras on the market.
Even cameras like Canon’s 1Ds and Nikon’s D3 are nowhere close to the K7 when it comes to this level of functionality. This implies of course that it’s a super DSLR within the more excessive travel conditions, where even essentially the most rugged “pro” cameras can usually experience high failure rates.
Not so with the Pentax K7. It’s up for just about anything.
Not just that, but as I already mentioned earlier, it’ll additionally do an unbelievable job of video capture in these situations too, which is a really awesome feature. The K7 beats out just about everyone of the competitors in the midrange market section of the DSLR market, although the others as is the norm will try to play catch up, as all the copy cats get in on the Pentax’s action.
Pentax appears to be doing video more effectively than everyone else and that is beyond argument. The K7 helps your normal 1280×720p, 30fps HD, and has a jack for an external microphone which you won’t get with any of the lower-end video-capable DSLRs.
By the way this means you could have high-quality sound in stereo when you want. Brilliantly, the K7 utilizes the full area of the sensor and affords a 1536×1024, giving 3:2 ratio mode , instead of losing a sixth of your frame size like every other digital does when taking pictures a 16:9 video.

Another nice function in video capture is the K7′s sensor-based image stabilization system, which makes the Pentax K7 DSLR a camera that provides you with great results. It will at all times help guys like me who maybe have shaking hands that come as standard. I’ve to say since beginning to use the Pentax K7 DSLR, I’ve definitely noticed a big difference. You’ll discover it with the reduction of the number of snaps you will be deleting after a session. That is the place it really matters.
