Why is it taking so long to charge my Zen Micro Photo?

I bought the Micro Photo yesterday and drained battery before I charged it for the first time. It has been charging for 10 hours and it says the battery has only 25% charged. Is the battery defective?
I have a 7 year old computer, would that have any thing to do with it taking so long to charge

First time charge takes approximately 24 hours so hang in there.
