This is a san disk SD card…but I am confused because there are San Disk Ultra II, Ultra III or just normal San Disk Cards.

Good question, because some cameras cannot handle higher capacity SD cards.
According to Canon:
Solution: Supported memory cards for PowerShot SD40, SD750, SD800 IS, SD900 and SD1000.
Supported memory cards for newer PowerShot SD series cameras
(as of August 2006)
Your camera can be used with SD memory cards, SDHC memory cards, and MultiMediaCard memory cards that conform to their respective standards.
These cameras will support 2GB and larger cards provided that they adhere to the SDHC standard.
The current SDHC standards allow for cards up to 32GB capacity.
