How To Make A Secondary Laptop Screen Display
Your laptop computer has a standard blue monitor cable hookup (VGA) on the back of its case, so all you really have to do is connect your secondary monitor and then configure a few specific visual settings in your operating system.

Purchase an external computer monitor that you feel comfortable using. Look at things like size, resolution, and aspect ratio. Find something that you will be able to use while at home but won’t miss not having access to when you take your laptop computer away from home.
Plug the external computer monitor’s power cable into a wall outlet. Turn on both your external monitor and your laptop computer. Your external monitor will automatically begin receiving signals from your laptop and displaying them on screen. Then, right-click your laptop’s desktop and click “Properties.” Click on the “Appearance” tab. You can use this window to configure which of your two monitors is your primary unit or secondary unit, as well as what the resolution of your external monitor is.
