Choose Best SDHC Memory Card is Important
Considering that many photographers have a variety of memory cards to do their jobs, we must consider several elements when using the work is suitable for photographic or video as DSLRs are being used more for it. Memory cards vary in capacity, speed and brand.
Capacity:
The photos especially of high-resolution cameras and quality occupy a large amount of space at least you have today is the 4GB cards for both JPEG and RAW. There are cameras that produce pictures from 10MB to 20MB each. However, for 1 minute video recording that can hold between 200 MB to 1 GB of space depending on recording quality.
In the Secure Digital (SD) there are 2 levels of ability. The SDHC (High Capacity) and SDXC (Extended Capacity). The SDHC offer a capacity ranging from 4GB to 32GB and 32GB SDXC offer between 2TB. In the Compact Flash (CF) cards can be found as much as 100GB but so far is 137GB.
For video, it is enough cards to 8GB and 16GB. Maybe the rookies as they recorded several minutes waiting for something interesting happens, fill up quickly so those cards may require something bigger.
Speed:
Be smart cards in record speed is a big advantage when you’re taking photos with DSLR’s. The large pictures of generating capacity and quality could create a data bottleneck (bottleneck) or a plug if used low speed cards. I do not know if you could realize that when you shoot in bursts a few cameras and after 3 to 5 photos is slow. BINGOOOOO! You know it’s the card.
Video of using a low speed card creates video frame losses when trying to view on PC looks like when you watch digital TV without cable (see pictures of other colors that distort the image).
In the case of SD, the rates fall into classes: Class 2, Class 4, Class 6, Class 10. The number that identifies what is the minimum speed transfer rate card has such a Class 6 transfer 6MB/sec minimum. The minimum for High Definition (720P and 1080P) is a class 6. And for standard definition video (480P) a Class 4 is going to work well. In Point & Shoot cameras (basic cameras or pocket) do not see difference because the images are JPEG and the sensor that captures the image is much smaller than those of the DSLR so the ability to deal size photos is 50% less (2MB to 5MB or so.)
In CF, 30MB/Segundo transfer cards (200X) or greater is recommended to record HD videos. For photos of great size and quality, 133X speed cards (20MB/sa 25MBs) are sufficient.
Brand:
There are a variety of brands in the digital market with different types of guarantees. Some offer as many as 12 months, another 5 years and others for life as long as they register the card and keep the receipt. It is advisable to buy the largest manufacturers of today such as Lexar, Kingston, Delkin, SanDisk. Both Panasonic and Toshiba have done well on their cards, so you can consider them. Other manufacturers like Sony and PNY either try to enter the market but still need to improve their quality.
It is important to see your computer manual which cards have been approved for use as one you buy may not work properly on another computer even if it works.
Personal conclusion:
In my opinion, investing in a good card with high capacity with high transfer speeds and a good guarantee that manufacturing is as important as buying a good lens. There are jobs that require accurate capture images like sports events and photojournalism, and if you have a single card in the Class 2 SD only $ 7.00 you can lose the image that both wanted. So which is investigates and invests it for you so that later you will not regret.
