Ab Doer Twist
The Ab Doer Twist is the predecessor of the extremely popular as seen on tv Ab Doer machine developed by Thane USA. It is like the Ab Doer in that it is an abdominal machine that works your muscles while you are sitting down. It is a fairly simple machine as far as how the machine works your abs.
The product is made of a heavy-gauge steel that is easily assembled. The machine has ergonomically designed arm bars to relieve stress on the wrists, shoulders, and neck. The seat has a cushion so that your workout is not a painful one. The back portion of the machine houses the resistance. The machine comes with several resistance settings so that if you need more resistance you are able to move up. The back portion of the machine also has a massage roller on the outside that massages the back muscles while you work. The legs are a sturdy tripod base with the front pod having a longer piece to stabilize the machine more. The machine takes up very little room when being used and can be folded and put away.
So, as you have probably guessed, the way that the machine works your body is by providing resistance to some suggested movements targeting specific muscle groups. It provides both a muscle toning and aerobic workout. Because the machine keeps your body stable throughout the suggested movements, there is very little room for injury.
The Ab-Doer Twist comes with an instructional DVD and three progressive workout DVDs: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
The Abdoer Twist has its limitations. This machine is meant to be used only for the muscles of the midsection (abdominals, obliques, hips, buttocks, lower back). This machine is rather pricey, but when compared to other abdominal machines it’s actually on the low end. When looking at the reviews on Amazon it appears that the resistance settings that come with the machine may not be enough for some more fit individuals. You may have to buy higher resistances as an accessory.
Despite the machine’s limitations, it appears to get good reviews, especially from older people and people who have had injuries and have difficulties with high impact exercises. It
