Video Matrix Switch – Easy Routing of Multiple Video Sources
Combination of a video splitter and a video switch gives us a Video Matrix Switch, which allows the routing of multiple video sources and also the switching of multiple video displays. The user has an advantage of whether to have all or some of the video router that accordingly display all or some of the video inputs; also a few of the switches allow the user the ability to cascade, thereby allowing in the configuration – additional sources. Ideally it can be used for multiple video configurations like hotels, command centers and so on.
Cat5 VGA and Audio Matrix Switch is also known as a Cat5 video router, which is capable of combining two technologies into one, namely a video splitter and a Video Switch, thereby allowing the user to distribute multiple VGA video and audio sources over inexpensive Cat5 UTP cables over distances up to 1000ft on to multiple audio video displays such as LCDs, television sets and so on. In the case of complex configurations that are required by large applications, where throughout the facility the video is being sent, this video matrix switch can be ideally used. In order to switch and maintain, it could be done either remotely or independently via RS232, with the help of GUI (Graphical User Interface) program; also it could be done using the push buttons that are placed on the front of the unit.
The video matrix switcher has been made available in various form factors that size up to 32×16 where there are 32 inputs and 16 outputs; the added advantage being the user could also cascade in order to create additional inputs. The Cat 5 Audio Video Matrix 16 in 16 out is a type of Cat5 VGA and Audio matrix switch, which has cable compensation up to 300m; and it can be mixed with video signals such as RGB, YUV and so on. It has the capability for audio switching and provides high quality video with resolutions up to 1600×1200. The switch can be controlled via Infra red and RS422; it has an integral UTP distribution and also has an optional TCP / IP access.
