Wireless Slave
Netgear wireless router, is it possible to do this ?
I have one broken computer, that is so messed up I can’t get to the desktop. I turn it on, and it starts loading up but it freezes before it lets me do anything. I am wondering if my wireless router (Netgear) which gives me internet, will allow me in some way to connect my new computer and my old one. And, if I can somehow fix my old one, by making my new computer the “master” and my old comouter the “slave” ? Can it be done ?
It can be done…But you have to first be able to get into the old PC and have the File Sharing enabled.
Have you tried going into the old PC thru Safe mode?
It sounds like you could just have a very nasty virus in the old one…
Another idea you can try is if the drives are compatible, pull out the Old PC’s hard drive (the one with the OS on it) place it into the new PC as a Slave drive, Format that old drive, reinstall your OS on it, and then put it back into your old PC, with an antivirus program on it as well….
then have the Old PC scan the entire computer for bugs, and see if tht gives you access to the old PC again.
