Zoom Sony
What is a reasonable mid-range zoom lens for a Sony a350 (can’t really afford a Carl Zeiss)?
I realized the other day that the only thing I use my old canon eos for anymore is for zoom. I figure I may as well get one for the Sony and get rid of the Canon.
Well, those were all the available Sony branded lenses, but not all the lenses available for Sony. Here are the mid-range zoom lenses for Sony including Sigma and Tamron branded lenses:

Hope this helps. My husband and I both have Sony alphas. My husband has the a350 with the 16-105mm lens and it is a great combo.

It has a great range of focal lengths and it is quite nice on image quality. I would definitely be looking at the Tamron 28-75/2.8 or the Sony 16-105. Both are very nice lenses.
The great thing about B&H and Adorama is that most items are shipped free and only NY and NJ residents pay sales tax.
You can find Minolta brand lenses on ebay and on craigslist. Often they are sold with 35mm SLRs and you can get some of them for a steal. B&H and Adorama both sell new and used equipment.
I started with a 35mm Canon rebel and I switched to Sony. Love my a700. Haven’t looked back. I recently gave the Canon to my step-daughter. I know I will get a few thumbs down for even saying that.
